Foster the Village is a tax-exempt, 501c3 organization that supports children from birth to 18 years old in Brown County who have been removed from their homes and placed in foster care due to abuse and/or neglect. We brighten the lives of children in out-of-home care by providing essential basic needs and community support, to ease the foster care journey for children and caregivers.

We are pleased to announce a leadership transition as Foster the Village continues to grow in response to increasing community needs. Following a thoughtful search process, we are proud to welcome Devin Vandertie as our new Executive Director! Devin brings nearly a decade of nonprofit leadership experience and a strong commitment to community service. She will begin her role on July 13, 2026 and will work closely with founder Cheri Salmon and the Board to ensure a smooth transition.
Cheri Salmon has transitioned from her role as Executive Director into a part-time Program Manager position, allowing her to focus more directly on supporting foster families and children. We are grateful for her vision and leadership over the past eight years, and are thankful she will continue to play an important role in our work.
With a strong foundation and dedicated team in place, the future of Foster the Village is bright!

Thanks to Dr. Ralph Vardis and company for this beautiful original song called "I am Home." It was written to recognize Foster the Village at the 2025 Doctors in Recital event. We are so grateful for our supportive community!
